There are times where you are going to be looking for us to be able to trap larger animals than your average rat. This is something that we are most definitely open to doing. Our raccoon removal services are one of the things that we offer that we get the most calls about. So you can bet that we know how to handle these types of situations. We want to go over the procedure that we follow in these situations. At times what happens is that people will spot the animal and give us a call. By the time that we get there though, the animal is gone so we are going to have to do our due diligence to be able to find it.
The first thing that we are going to have to do is find the animal. If it happens to be out in the open by the time that we arrive then, we will proceed to catch it then we will go through an inspection to make sure that it was the only animal that was roaming around your home. A lot of different species are known for traveling in pairs so we will most definitely have to go in and try and find the other animal before we leave.
Do We Do Catch & Release?
A lot of people want to know what we do with the animals once we catch them. In reality, there is no one procedure that we always follow. That is because different animals have to be handled in different ways. With some animals, we may even have to turn them over to local authorities. There are actually different things that we may be legally required to do for some animals but not for others. To answer the question that we posted above we do, do some catch and release, but things tend to vary a lot!
What Type Of Animals Do We Trap?
We handle most rodents and a bit larger animals that could be raccoons, squirrels, possums, and other mid-sized animals if you will. There have been times where we have encountered things from the local cat to some coyotes. Snakes also make regular appearances. We could say that we don’t handle bears and things of that nature. Luckily they are not exactly native to this area so you could say that we dodged a bullet there.
When To Call Us & When To Call 9-1-1
At times people will be scared and surprised by what they think is a local mountain lion. So they will go ahead and call 9-1-1 or animal services. For the most part near the city, you are not going to get many encounters with some of the larger animals out there. So, it really depends on where you are in the city that you could make that decision. When in doubt though we could say that 9-1-1 is always going to be a good bet. They may end up calling us anyway. We are also providing bat control service.
